TASTE THE CHARMS OF :
THE LOIRE VALLEY, NORMANDY AND BRITTANY THROUGH A MINI " TOUR DE FRANCE "

This five
day trip will allow you to discover some of the most splendid monuments of our
country. For your pleasure, we will not only let you discover a multitude of grandiose
Chateaux, manor houses, cathedrals but also the seaside and country-side.
Monday
: CHENONCEAU, AZAY-LE-RIDEAU, VILLANDRY
After a morning greeting at the rail station of the city of TOURS, we will be
on our way to Chenonceau, the most romantic château of the Loire area. After a
lunch break, we will visit Azay-Le-Rideau , in its idyllic setting on the Indre
river. We will end the day with a leisurely visit to Villandry, extremely famous
for its gardens, " à la française " ( in french design ) before the check-in at
your hotel in Amboise.
Tuesday
: MONT SAINT MICHEL
Let us go to Mont Saint Michel ! ! ! All along the way, we will discover
the varying country-side landscapes of the Touraine and Normandy. Upon arrival,
you will enjoy the fresh seafood of the last tide. Then, full of energy, you
will go to the top of the rock to visit the splendid Abbey of Saint Michel.
The rest of the afternoon will be all yours to discover narrow medieval streets
and houses. You will have enough time to do some shopping or simply enjoy the
panorama and the sea air. You will also spend your second night in an hotel located
in the bay.
Wednesday
: SAINT-MALO
After your breakfast, we will leave for Brittany. On the road, following the ocean,
we will pass through Cancale : the french oyster capital. Then, we will spend
the rest of the morning in Saint-Malo. This city has twelve centuries of
maritime history and is famous for its medieval streets and impressive ramparts.
( visit of the city's museum : " Histoire du pays Malouin " ). Here you will be able to try the famous buckwheat " crêpes "
( pancakes ). Afterwards we will
use the rest of this afternoon to return to Amboise.
Thursday
: CHARTRES, BLOIS
The fourth day will
allow you to discover one the most famous cathedrals in France, Chartres,
known for its sublime stained glass windows. After lunch, we will visit Blois,
favourite château of " Catherine de Médicis.". This château regroups four major
styles of architecture of the region ( Gothic, high Gothic, Renaissance and Classic
).
Friday
: CHAMBORD, AMBOISE, CLOS LUCE, WINE TASTING
The last day you will follow the life of François the 1st beginning in the morning
with a tour of Chambord. This Renaissance splendor is set in a vast forest
with hundreds of chimneys rising from its roof. After lunch, you will visit the
Royal Château of Amboise, main residence of François the 1st. You will
also visit the Clos Lucé, manor house of Leonardo da Vinci where he spent the
last three years of his life. A visit of a local wine cellar with a wine tasting
will be held before the drive back to the rail station where our discovery ends
in late afternoon.
